To my surprise coach no. D1 was an unreserved coach category.. we had to travel in this coach for all D1 coach 2nd sitting reserved passengers.

Dint TTE say anything?
My exp in this train
1) Once TTE came @ CBE
2) 2-3 no TTE came to check tickets in 2S as I traveled till SA(nt sure if I was unlucky )
