Fully working HOG WAP-7 with 12302 Rajdhani express at HWH.

so lighting load is transferred to batteries, but what do AC's do in NZ???
Also, along with BLHO button there is also apparently LSHO indicator to indicate health of converter.

Since the neutral sections are relatively short, I think AC and fans can be just switched off in neutral zones. Providing a UPS for these will make the whole coach's electricals too complicated ( It's complicated as it is with separate circuits being required for EOG and HOG). That aside, it's interesting to see that now lighting is always run on the batteries. Here's one more document with the specs for a HOG compatible A/C chair car coach.

NZ's aren't very far from each other, and a train like BCT or HWH raj will be crossing them upto 2 times in an hour. wouldn't the frequent start stop to the compressors of AC shorten their live owing to high electromagnetic stress at starting?
But agree on UPS part. also, not only would it complicate the circuit it would complicate the circuit but also introduce few more power electronic components, which would lead to harmonics.

Train with WAP-7 HOG ON passing Neutral Zone - Operation is similar to that of EMU/MEMU (Lights powered by backup batteries and AC/Fans are with NO POWER).
