I want to go to Coimbatore from Mumbai via Konkan. I find no direct trains. So which station should I alight in terms of (nearest and avaliabilty of frequent trains)

You will get direct train to shoranur (100km away from coimbatore).
ok then you take the garibrath from mumbai LTT to shoranu JN..then there are many trains from shoranur till coimbtore..
