The Living Atlas has now been integrated with the official train database. The true "exact routes" of all trains can now be seen in the various maps - not just simple lines connecting the halts. So, for instance, the exact route followed by Duronto trains can be seen, as well as all intermediate stations - not just technical halts. (The technical halt timings will soon be integrated as well). Also, the independently calculated actual km can now be seen for all intermediate stations. So if you examine the DEE-YPR Duronto, the official kms is 2314 km, whereas the independently calculated km comes around to 2369 km. This means that the official km is based on the shorter Kacheguda route, and has not been changed for the longer Wadi route. Either that, or the route shown here is not correct and should be changed to the shorter Kacheguda route. Both scenarios give...

opportunities for comparative analysis and discussion.
The routes traversed by the train retain their original colours (see pic attached for the Sarai Rohilla Yesvantpur Duronto). For the Duronto shown above, you can see that the train follows an electrified route till Vikarabad, after which it switches to a diesel line.
1. Living Atlas: There is now a new Train box. Pick the train, and the composite route of the train will be shown, including the intermediate stations.
2. Train Pages: Both the timetable and the map give you the option to examine the intermediate stations of the route followed by the train, along with the km.
Coming soon: Detailed remarks for each station en-route, including technical stops editable by Admins. So, for instance, for one of the intermediate stations, you can specify the time as well as remark that the train slows down considerably, but does not halt. Also, you may jot down unofficial halts that are not mentioned anywhere. Also coming: Integration of the Living Atlas with Trip Diary and rollout of the Trip Diary. A direct benefit of this is that you will be able to see when a train passes through an intermediate station without stopping, or unofficially stopping, based on Trip Diary inputs.
The Living Atlas integration and the independently calculate route and km database marks a milestone where our Members will be given increasing opportunities to play with alternative routes of trains and compare their relative merits. Also, very soon, you will be able to examine multiple trains side by side on the map including their true current positions with respect to each other, based on Trip Diary inputs.
There are many upcoming features that rely on this infrastructure addition. Like with all other features, some errors and bugs are expected and will be cleared up as and when we come across them. Also, the Living Atlas is being continuously enhanced with route changes and station additions to make it more and more comprehensive.
Feedback and suggestions welcome.
Thanks.

this feature is really gr8 and much needed and thanks for that.
I was just checking route of 15015/Gorakhpur Yesvantpur Express.
So I can see mixture of MG+BG route which is practically not possible so these kind of error we can rectify with this approach. Kindly check.
