Why because generally a single journey ticket costs fare about rs30/- for the distance of 60kms for express fare. As in General season ticket is rs270/- per month including Sundays and holidays. At here there is an equation I.e., for an up and down journey costs about rs60/- according to season ticket it costs only rs9/- see how much difference. Here the equation 270/30=9

That's why MST and sub-urban tickets are becoming such a loss making affair in passenger segment for Railways. More than four thousand crore loss in financial year 2015-16 only.
