Actually Seperate Tracks are needed between Delhi and Ambala. More than 100 trains on one side are running daily on this route. Else a Bye Pass route should be given for Haryana from Delhi which directly enters either Ludhiana or just after Ambala.
Additionally, Bye Pass is needed at LDH and JRC as trains takes a lot of time enter and exit these stations.

under construction DFC may be of much help in reducing the load of existing tracks esp when the slow moving freight trains shall be taken off.

Freight trains are very slow movers and huge drag on the speed of faster express trains they have great inertia and take a very long time to pick up speed and clear a section of track. Heavier axle load cause much wear and tear of tracks making them unfit for higher speeds . Elimination of these will substantially increase the avg speed of all the express trains in general.
Automatic signaling is also gradually being taken up by IR, I hope at least NDLS-UMB section shall be done soon.
