Finally, the ice has been broken! The wait is over! Proud moment for the people of JBP, WCR & SECR as the broad gauge passenger train service has started from JBP to SOY till eternity. Huge crowd gathered at GRG to witness the chug of R alco towing the inaugural special. Around 170 tickets were sold at the ticket counter as told by the clerk. The whole rolling stock belonged to SECR.
Also, the whole KEQ-SOY section is equipped with Solid State Interlocking. Axle counters can also be seen in the panel room. So, SECR is giving full priority to the safety aspect. Plasser machines still plying around. But, the platfroms are still in crude state and the approach road is still...

Good to see the historical first run pics and VDO of JBP-SOY train and now things will get better day by day for JBP-BTC section and i think good pace of work will be going on after SOY also to connect NIR to new BG also and hopefully by DEC 2016/Jan 2017 we can see the extension of this train soon
