Depends on time at which we want to travel...
I personally dont prefer night journey of 8-9 hrs. Night journey is better if it is between 10 to 12 hrs. Else it is a late night departure. I have taken mahamana just bcoz of its after 12 departure.

Bhai aise gomti lovers bhi hai jo free me shatabdi me ticket milne par bhi usi me hi jayenge. Good.
12229 has really great timings. One can get a full day at Delhi and that can really be beneficial. Plus, morning is one of the best times to arrive at a place like Delhi especially if you are a first time traveller
