Punjab deserves Semi High Speed train, keeping in view the fairly large and prosperous cities of Amritsar, Jalandhar, Ludhiana, Candigarh in a short stretch and the nearness of this cluster of cities with Mega city of Delhi. More ever this route forms a part of Delhi-JAT route, which have huge ac class passenger traffic.
A large number of Shatabdies and other fully ac trains on the route highly justify the up-gradation of the track on priority for higher speeds.

Shat ones should be upgraded to at leasr 160 kmph like gatimaan.
