Nitish Flags off 227 Luxury Buses for Tourists-Patna: Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, at a function in Patna on Saturday, flagged off 227 luxury buses to ferry visitors to Patna Saheb Gurudwara and back for the entire duration of the much-anticipated Prakash Utsav that is being celebrated in the state capital to mark the 350th birth anniversary of Guru Govind Singh, the 10th religious leaders of the Sikh.

time the state government has spent crores of rupees on similar luxury buses in the name of promoting tourism only to disappear from Bihar streets never to be seen again, this time the government is insisting the buses would continue to ply even after Prakash Utsav is over by January 7.
Touted as 'high-tech' vehicles, officials said all 227 buses are equipped with GPS and surveillance cameras along with cameras designed to assist the drivers in backing up the vehicle. It also has door sensors and emergency alarm in the event of any untoward situation.
The bus service will be available to all Sikh pilgrims between December 25 and January 5, 2017. After this period, the buses will be utilized in various towns in Bihar including Patna, Bhagalpur, Muzaffarpur, Gaya, Munger, Sasaram and Darbhanga, officials said.
