Poorva allows only 480 km minimum distance booking in SL is not allowed 3rd AC yes. But Poorva is suffering due to fog delays and reschdule so u can rather try 12371,12353 same timings with SL option avl.
for this short distance you can go in SL class.
But don't book in any train which is coming or going towards MGS-ALD-CNB section, you will suffer a lot.

But mahabodhi has lot number of halts compared to this train
so in that train travelling from GAYA to MGS which will be better 3A or sleeper ??
