Talgo trains having better esthetics shall give a good travel experience to travelers, but its economics shall make it not so desirable. Either IR shall heavily lose money if fares are kept same, or the fares have to be kept too high to maintain the profitability. Gatiman with LHB coaches is a better option in this respect.
If at all the Talgo train has to be operated, than it has to be about 6 hr journey and not Del-Mum as planned. DEL-UMB-LDH-JRC-ASR is a very promising route in addition to DEL-CNB-LKO

BPL Shatabdi does 150kmph on about 150km stretch only and fencing is there on some critical sections. For Del-Mum stretch too fencing shall be required on some critical sections to ensure safety.

The cost per coach is very high as this is the initial rake that is being leased. A technology transfer, if successful, will bring down the costs greatly.
Ideally, the fare for Talgo should be similar to normal fare as IR would be saving a considerable amount of money in the maintenance and more importantly, the running costs of the rake ( With a projected 30% energy savings over conventional/LHB rakes ). The most ideal option is to use Talgo for Shatabdi trains instead of adding a separate class of trains for Talgo alone.
