This is actually just a short siding. The line that crossed the border ran a few hundred meters to the north of this dead end point, and ran till Raiwind (in Pakistan now). The pillars for the old bridge across the Sutlej river are still standing and are visible in Google maps. The line till the river on the Indian side was opened in 1892.
When introduced in 1928, the Frontier mail used to run via this route to Peshawar. Between Delhi and Peshawar, the Frontier mail used to go via Bathinda, Ferozepore, Kasur and Lahore. from 1929, the Grand Trunk express (GT) and the Frontier mail used to run combined between Delhi and Peshawar on this

The bridge blasted during Indo-Pakistani War of 1971.
As per wikipedia upto 2011 train runs on this track upto karachi(Pakistan).

Ha Frontier mail (Aaj ki GT ) tb is route se thi aur is track pe bhi Attari wagah ki tarah freight exchange hoti thi uptill 2005-6
In 2005-6 yha ldaai hui thi aur tb se ye terminal bnd hai
