The food @ MAQ-Mangalore Central sucks. Food is available only on PF#1.
There's hardly anything for the vegetarians. If brave enough you can try the rock-hard idlys.
If you are heading to Bangalore by 16518/16524 from PF#3, make sure to buy something @ PF#1.

What else you can expect? It's always a better idea to either carry home foods or survive on cookies, cakes, than to eat station, train foods & become ill.

Yup..IR should print it as a mandatory instruction on the ticket.."Carry your own food".
There is a good irctc hotel on platform 1 and also plenty of options for e- catering
