Yes SUR-GTL is some 500 Kms. But there is another train that does similar work of connecting long distance cities during day. KCG-NRKR ICE - 732 Kms.

So keeping that in mind I said. It will help Rayalseema people and also SUR-BJP people to travel to HPT-BAY region to all those Iron and steel factories. Many work there and not many trains for them. Of course there needs to be another rake too.

More than end to end travellers, it will be useful intermediate passengers. There is not a single daily passenger train from Ballari, HPT, Koppal to Bagalkote, BJP, SUR.

When I visited Hampi & Hospet last year.. I have traveled through Solapur Dharwad Passenger till Gadag and took Bellary passenger for further journey.

It was With good patronage When it is running between gadag-solapur it use to depart from GDG at 14.00 which was good Timing for ppl to go towards bijapur/solapur but due to some gameplan by Railway officials after SUR GM Retired Who was against extension as per rules of CR they extended this one to UBL and now made it less patronage train so that its running on its last days. This can be run From SUR to GTL via GDG HPT as karthik bro told which can be good train.
Thats why if this rake utilised to run between SUR-GTL via GDG then lot of tourist places it connects like Kudala sangam,badami,Aihole,pattadkal,Lakkudi near gadag ,almatti Dam garden,tungabhadra dam garden,hampi and also connect Industrial/power plant areas like Hotgi Ntpc,Kudgi Ntpc,Jindal Steels,Bellary Thermal plant,Arcelor Mittal Plant @ kudatini and lot Industries in between which serve very well to both Solapur and intermediate stations well.
