*** BIKES FOR RENT ***
.
In Goa and looking for transportation options? There are buses, however might not be suitable and can be crowded. Autos / Taxis are way too costly and not easily available. Radio Cab aggregators (Ola / Uber, etc.) are absent. So what to do? Consider Bikes on Rent, as it is one of the best, convenient and cost-effective options to get around. Here's what you will have to do:
.
...

> Alight from PF-3 side (the city side). You will get Pilots (Motorcycle taxi) / Auto rickshaws / Cabs. Go to Municipal Garden Square, around 2-3 km. Pilots take around Rs. 60/-, Autos can take around Rs. 100/-. Alternatively, if you want to go by bus, go straight onto a narrow lane after exit, which leads to Martires Dias Road (one of the arterial roads). You will get frequent buses to Municipal Council / Garden.
.
> There are plenty of rental guys over there, scattered all around the place who would provide you with the vehicle of your choice, subject to availability. Rates are around Rs. 300-400/- per day for Activa and upto Rs. 500/- per day for motorbikes. A few providers offer a package of 2-3 days, however a single day's package is also available.
.
> You need to keep your original ID card (PAN / Aadhar) as security along with security deposit of Rs. 500/- (may vary from provider to provider). Do not give your driving licence. Make the payment upfront. They make necessary entries in the register and would handover the keys of the vehicle, along with helmet.
.
> These vehicles on rent have a different colour scheme for number plates, i.e. yellow letters on black background; however some rentals provide normal private vehicles i.e. black letters on white background.
.
> Once they handover the keys, inspect the vehicle thoroughly in presence of their representative and confirm the scratches / damages already present. Bring this to the notice of the concerned person to avoid further disputes. Make sure the necessary papers of the vehicle are present in the vehicle. Note down the contact number of the person who deals with the rentals.
.
> Petrol quantity in the tank is barely half a litre, so drive to the nearest petrol pump and fill the requisite quantity. (There are plenty of petrol pumps in the vicinity).
.
> If driving within the city, helmet is not compulsory, however if you are venturing out on highways, it is a MUST, if caught by cops, the fine is Rs. 1000/-.
.
> In the rare event that the cops stop you and ask you regarding the vehicle, you may tell that it is on rent. They usually don't ask seeing the rental number plate colour scheme. Some providers will advise you to tell the cops that "this is my friend's bike". (In case the number plate is normal white).
.
> While handing over the vehicle, do remember to collect your ID card and the security deposit.
.
> Enjoy your ride and your stay in Goa!! :)
