Power Shortage makes division to rethink about temporary power supply to Ispat Nagar and Chas stations under Bokaro district of Jharkhand. This is the first time ever when ADRA is encountered terribly by a such a small issue. DCM Bhaskar said Adra's coverage is mostly under West Bengal where electricity is regular and cheap with highest efficiency in Eastern India. We are planning to invest extra to get power from nearby plant of STPS of Purulia owned by WBPDCL. Power supply from CTPS and Bokaro Th. Plant is not reliable at the moment. We will get the stations registered with STPS railway grid soon.
There has been a lot of power shortage in bokaro.. in all my 18 years there never had I witnessed this mayhem..
The problems that have arisen arose after a huge thunderstorm in the area around the 20th of May and that storm I believe has had a domino effect...
It's better that Adra searches for alternatives as the IPTN route shoulders the responsibility of a lot of people in Jharkhand

It's not just since 20th May. Since last 6 months ADRA has been struggling hard for proper power supply to city reservation office in the township. Previous year also the issue was same. If there is a grid failure(high probable), why not supply undisruptive power from alternate sources? I believe the township has that system. Like in KGPW, KGP colonies there had been 3 grid failures caused by thunder in this month only. Power supply was undisruptive through other sources like Kolaghat plant, Bandel plant and more..
Even after having 3 thermal power plants in Bokaro district it is struggling with regular power supply. The power issue in Chas has been prevailing since a long time.
