The temple has shrines dedicated to Thiruchengottuvelavar (An incarnation of Lord Murugan/Karthikeyan/Subramanian the son of Lord Shiva and goddess Parvathi) and also a shrine dedicated to Lord Vishnu with Goddess Lakshmi (Sridevi) and Bhumadevi (Bhudevi).
Tiruchengode falls on the bus route between Erode to Salem/Erode to Namakkal/Erode to Rasipuram and has regular Express bus services along with Erode Town bus services. Sankagiri (Sankaridurg) is about 12 kms from here and well connected by Town bus services of TNSTC
