I took a quick trip from Mumbai to Surat. The train runs really well between BVI and ST and usually gets to ST ahead of schedule. Even though they have a kitchen on the train, no one comes to take dinner orders (I was traveling 3AC), but the snack guys keep coming around selling stuff like veg cutlets, chips, and cookies. The train coaches are maintained really well and the journey, although short, was comfortable. If you wanna go to Surat and you make up your mind a bit late, don't worry, this train has a lot of tickets available for ST and most of the time, you'll get a confirmed ticket; but even if you have a waitlist number when you book, don't worry it'll get confirmed for sure after the final chart is prepared.
