So, I had to travel to my home town of Banda due to family emergency. Set from home early at 7 am and hoped that Utsarg will arrive on time, so that I can comfortably board the CNB-Chitrakot Exp. When I reached the station, only CPR-CSTM Jansadharan was standing at PF 2. Bought a Exp GS ticket worth Rs 80 for Banda. While I was waiting, saw the cleaning staff busy cleaning the tracks and PF's so early in the morning. Plus the weather was very pleasant and cool. Frankly, the whole station was shining. Utsarg came in 30 mins late on PF 1, led by WDP 4D at 8 o' clock. While the engine detached to reverse the train, Cpr one was given the green light and moved out. And meanwhile was anxious for utsarg to resume the journey quickly so that i don't miss my connection in CNB. I...

also hada choice to board PBH-CNB IC at LKO which as per ntes, had just arrived at LKO ontime and will definitely move towards CNB before utsarg. But on advice of daily passengers on the route, I stuck with Utsarg. So after the engine was reattached, the train was given green signal at 8:30 am. Saw Lko mail standing at pitline to my left. And then to my surprise, saw PBH-CNB IC moving out from LKO towards cnb side by side. So another example of NTES manipulation. At manaknagar, IC was halted and utsarg pushed ahead. And reached CNB at 10 sharp. A word about CNB first. Though the PF'S were clean(a big change from my previous experience, the lines still were dirty) So I had a measly 10 mins to board the CNB-Chitrakot IC stading on another PF, train was practically empty. Felt like I had stuck gold :) Saw SDAH-DLI WB sampark kranti standing at PF1. Now it was time for my IC to move but still no green signal. So I assumed that the tracks towards bhimsen must not be empty. Meanwhile, LTT-GKP Santkabir dham came in late on adjacent PF with Ajni P7 while WB sampark kranti was given the green signal. After that, my IC started out 10 mins late. Reached govindpuri and then crossed morning passenger from Khujraho/banda to cnb and JHS IC standing adjacent to each other, waiting for green signal to govindpuri. After bhimsen, our train moved towards banda away from the electrified single line to JHS. And I must say it was a very pleasent journey. Train was clean, plenty of room for everybody and the outside weather too was beautiful. After sometime, reached Ghatampur station. The wait here was a bit longer and the WHY became clear soon enough. Durg-CNB betwa exp came from opposite direction and stopped at PF 2. And both were given green signal simultaneously. Meanwhile, I must say that except 2-3 stations where the main building was uninspiring, rest of the stations had a shed type building, reminiscent from the type you find in hill stations. Also each station had solar panels to supply power for emergency. Meanwhile, we also crossed River Yamuna and Ken. While yamuna was awe-inspiring for the fast paced river water-flow moving in perfect synchronization, Ken had huge huge boulders amidst its path. And finally, saw the Bambeshwar hill to my right just before we enter PF 1 in Banda. Deboarded and saw the engine for the day - LKO WDM 3A. New loco pilot was taking incharge for the rest of the journey. The loco pilot lobby is situated on PF 1 just where the engine stopped. Also saw the freight service being hauled by Katni twins standing adjacent. So this concludes the 1st leg of the journey. Return journey in 2A of JBP-LJN chitrakoot exp tomorrow. And as i had suspected, rake composition for Chitrakoot and consequently- LJN-BJU exp has been changed. So is it for Chitrakoot IC which now has 10 General coaches plus 2 slr.
As for the route itself, it will and certainly has to recieve more attention in future since it will be the main route to Raipur and beyond including VSKP from LKO/CNB side.

I want to add that Banda has 3 PF's since many years. The 3rd one is essentially like those in LJN. Morning passenger to CNB and night one from CNB always terminate on this PF. I know this since i used to travel in hose passengers when LJN-JBP chitrakoot was the only express service from LKO/CNB to this side. For proof, check the pics.
Plus, use the multiple station board pics wherever necessary.
