Time taken by a train of l metres to cross a stationary object with linear dimension 'h' where l>>h is equal to the time taken by the train to cover l metres..
However if l is comparable to h then it is the time taken to traverse l+h metres..
The object should be at rest with respect to inertial frame of reference..
