Vishal Bhasin 246 blog postsToday 12986 DEE JP Double Decker was hauled by latest EMD of TKD WDP4D 40263 which was HOG fitted. Head on Generation. Can this DD run without EOG by using these HOG fitted EMDs.
If run by HOG fitted loco EOGs can be removed from this DD and precious diesel can be saved. Also speed and punctuality of DD will improve.

It will save alot of diesel used by EOG if Double decker gets HOG technology fitted loco. Jaipur Mumbai Durunto is also having HOG equipped BRC WAP5/7 permanently throughout Sawai Madhopur to Mumbai central both the EOG switched of inroute saves diesal and running cost also reduced. Atleast fully AC train's should be hauled using HOG locos will save money for Railways.
Yes you are right. Nowadays this DD is getting these HOG fitted EMDs regularly hence both EOGs of this DD must be removed and 2 more DD coaches should be attached. This will benefit IR by reducing diesel cost and accommodating more passengers. This is great idea.

Eog is for emergency in case loco failure also for guards and luggage point of view but eog can be offed for saving fuel
