This action must have been taken because Saurashtra Mail runs late normally by an hour or sometimes by 1 hour 30 minutes.The train fails to keep up its SF timetable.Instead of giving accumulated slack in the end , the slack needs to be distributed equally.Has the halt at Mithapur been removed?The point to be noted is that the arrival of Rajkot is too early for the train even inspite of the known fact that Surendranagar - Rajkot is a single line section and with so many trains including freights , the train experiences many crossings within the stretch.The arrival at Rajkot should be pushed further considering this fact .Halt time should be reduced to 15 minutes which I find is suitable and I guess they have done it in the New time table.Train can be speeded up even more in Kanalus- Okha section because the only trains encountering crossing with 22945...

The problem is that we are not much aware of the fact that Saurashtra Mail has started getting an RSA with Okha-Somnath Express .This should mean no augumentation of Slip 12 coaches happening at Rajkot .I think this is also the reason why the halt at Rajkot is of barely 10 minutes.
