• Dhanbad divisional railway manager (DRM) M.K. Akhauri on Wednesday slapped fines on Ambuj caterers servicing Dhanbad –Alleppey express during an inspection after finding poor quality of food and excessive charging
• Vegetarian meal worth Rs 55 a plate was being served at Rs 90 per plate, non-vegetarian meal priced at Rs 65 a plate was being sold at Rs 110
• The DRM slapped a fine of Rs 10,000 on Ambuj Hotel, the pantry service provider aboard both the Up and Down versions of the Dhanbad Alappuzha Express trains

Lol 10k is pocket change for caterers like ambuj, no wonder why IR catering service won't improve.
You are right. In any case, there was another article recently wherein it was mentioned that IRCTC will take over catering of this train within few months, so final few months for the existing caterer
