* Duty of a guard is tough because he has to be always on tour and away from home, else he remains idle for most of the duty time. Such jobs are most amenable to automation and EoTT is the right device to eliminate the menial job.
* If EoTT does the job of guards, the existing guards can be retrained & fruitfully used in other jobs of ever expanding IR network.
* IR runs about 8000 freight trains daily needing about 32000 guards which roughly costs IR Rs. 3000 Cr. per annum.

where as @ 10lacs the total cost of 8000 nos EoTT equipments for all the freight trains shall be only 800 crores which is one time cost and later on a Rs. 50-100 crores may be needed for the annual maintenance of EoTT. This is extremely beneficial for IR, and IR need to ensure its successful implementation.
