Located about 2 kms from this Temple is the Temple dedicated to Lord Swamigurunathar/Swaminatha/Lord Murugan. Located about 8 kms from Kumbakonam, this temple is the supossedly where Lord Murugan teaches his father Lord Shiva the meaning of "Om" Pranava Manthra. Since Lord Shiva was preached about this by Lord Murugan, he is called Swamigurunathar/The one who taught his father
