yup.... they can see the ticket number without booking... I use to see that screen also... Some past 8 years back..
What will happen if railways also starts booking by showing layout just like buses will it be success. ithink they should start that type in premium trains as they have dynamic fares
It needs a very complex algorithm unlike buses and flights. The main reason for not allowing passengers to book their own preferred seats in railways is balancing factor. Improper allocation of passengers in trains will lead to imbalance due to unequal weight distribution at curves and cause accidents.
I dont think it will be such complex thing as i said to try only in premium trains as tickets will not get over in minute or a half unlike they dont have tatkal also it may be feasible
I just said it is complex. But its indeed feasible and practical.
