After purchasing the 12000HP WAG12 'Prima' loco from Alstom (France) under 'Make in India' project, IR is now a proud owner of one of the most powerful locomotives in the world. These locos will be used in Freight as of now. But at the present circumstances how much justified the step of purchasing this loco (from foreign country which has cost us around Rupees Twenty Thousand Crore) is in your opinion?

Upgrade was needed. but Indian orginizations like CLW. DLW. BHEL etc should have been given the contract of the R&D instead of importing

This loco is too powerful for our need. instead cheaper and bit less powerful (8000-9000HP) locos should have been considered for import

Yes, as per the latest pic leaked online, it is actually two locos stitched together since a single unit is one-sided cab only.
this loco is also capable of running all types of passenger trains at 200 kph
