As per a reliable source, Due to ongoing process of track renewals all across the IR network as per safety measures, the Doubling and new line works shall be seriously effected, as for them rails shall not be available soon, hence shall get delayed further.
Around 6 months are still there, DMW should be equipped with proper machinery needed in manufacturing for Electric engines and should provide training to them.
The main difference is the power pack. Thyristors and Transformers , rest traction part is same as of diesel loco
DLMW Patiala started receiving parts for WAP7. DLMW has been told to make 2 WAP7 by March 2018, and 60 by March 2019
