Kanchipuram is known as city of thousand temples. There are many temples in this city. Important temples are Kamakshi Amman temple, Ekambareshwarar temple, Varadaraja Perumal temple, Ulagazhanda Perumal temple, Kanchi Kamakoti Shankara matam.
Kamakshi temple: This temple is one of 18 Shakti peethas. Jagadguru Adi Shankaracharya established Shri Chakra in front of Goddess Kamakshi idol.
Ekambareshwarar temple: This temple is one of 5 Pancha bhootam temples according to Tamil mythology. This temple depicts earth among Pancha bhootams. This temple has a holy mango tree.

Perumal temple: This temple is one of 108 Divya desams according to Tamil mythology. Golden lizard & Silver lizard are found in this temple.
Ulagazhanda Perumal temple: This temple is one of 108 Divya desams according to Tamil mythology. This temple is dedicated to Vamana Murthy, an incarnation of Lord Vishnu. The idol of Vamana Murthy is very big and carved out of single rock.
Kanchi Kamakoti Shankara matam: This matam was established by Jagadguru Adi Shankaracharya. It is worth visiting.

You can also add Kailasanathar temple, Pachaivannar and Pavalavannar temples, and Orikkai Shankaracharya temple, to the list sir. 😊
