For this is what I was waiting what a coincidence today itself I was thinking y can't railways upgrade remaining railways stations and this comes the news for that wish.. Great news need the implementation of this one soon..

In news I read any important tourist or junction can be categorized as NSG 4 by Genaral Manager whom will be having full powers from now onwards but as per this chart station needs 10 to 20 crore earnings so how this statement fits well ? Such Important junctions give 10 to 20 crore or that much of footfalls..?

It means that even if in the station, there is NO revenue generation or NO footfalls in the category [ie less than that NSG4 category], that Tourist spot Rly Station or Junction Rly Station may be classified as NSG4 by GM of particular Zone; Example in SWR is that DDS DWF Dudhsagar Rly Station, LIM Sonalium Rly Station may be categorised as NSG4 even if there are no footfalls (meaning no passengers boarding/ deboarding) or no revenue generation (no high value tickets issued), as it is a tourist spot and requires extra facilities more than basic amenities ...

The same my concern also but they have shown their in list as per no of footfalls on station so now as per your saying Dudhsagar station don't have halt of more or no passenger trains at all so how can it be categorized. The categorization enable to such station which are important Junctions and Tourist places with good connectivity and populous one such can be categorized it seems.. SWR take example of Gadag Jn as i am familiar with and it is important Junction with more than 3000 footfalls per day but it's B category station so in new categorization have to wait and see does it effect GDG JN to get categorized or it will remain with same status...
