Itarsi-Manikpur-Allahabad Electrification Project Update - 2018
TRIAL of electricity-operated Rail Engines was carried out successfully on 178 km route of Piparia-Jabalpur on Sunday
This was carried out under West Central Railway's Mission Electrification in Madhya Pradesh
The Itarsi- Jabalpur block of 245km will also be switched from Diesel-operated to Electricity operated, in the month of January, after undergoing an inspection by Commissioner Railway Security
The Indian Railways have undertaken this mission for the hundred percent electrification of Rail routes by year 2021
This will lead to an estimated annual saving of fuel worth 150 crore Rupees, along-with saving the time consumed in the shifting of Locomotives and increasing the speed of the trains
The WCR has taken up a target of electrification of 1313 kilometers
The Officers of Central Rail Electrification Organization (Core) and workers of WCR contributed immensely to the success of the trial
It is to be noted that electrification of Pipariya-Jabalpur route is a part of the Itarsi-Manikpur-Allahabad Electrification Project
