Ye route 19 kms ka hai...Shipra Bridge se Ujjain Jn. tak ka 3 kms ka section pahele se hi bna hua...
Actually 25 km ka route hai. Shipra bridge se Ujjain tak ka 3 km hata ke 22 km bachta hai.
Source: I have travelled hundreds of times on MG era UJN - FTD route. It was 5 rs ticket for 25 kms printed (cardboard as well as dot matrix printer tickets)

There is Still MG tracks on Ujjain station platfrom.. no progress!
Great news, would love to see Ujjain-Indore-Mhow DEMU running on this section after gauge conversion, will be very useful for up downers. Indore-Gwalior Express ko bhi baad mein fatehabad-ujjain route se agar chalaye to(at least once or twice a week) Ujjain pe loco reversal nahin karna padega...
