Chharra will soon be treated as suburban says DRM ADRA. During reclassification of SER Railway stations to fit into new system, Chharra was thought to be classified as suburban station. Due to it's close proximity to Purulia and nearby Medical and Educational Giants like Ramakrishna Mission, lots of people will be benefited. As per WB geological estimates, Chharra is expected to come under PMC by next 5 years.
Burnpur under ADRA division is already treated as suburban of Asansol.
