Mumbai Chennai is one of the oldest routes but sadly the track is single between Daund and wadi .There is no superfast train like Duronto or Gharib rath on this route. The existing trains are so dirty and 3-tier sleepers are insufficient. Many people prefer to travel by bus upto Bangalore by a/c buses and change trains.Through this forum I would like to know the current status of line doubling as also whether the raailways will continue with the superfast holiday special introduced recently.

SPL Train Continuation is the sole discretion of IR based on commuter's responce!!!
As mentioned, the condition is pathetic & so is the condition of trains in between CSTM-MAS!!!
One get shocked to watch the track maintenance & level of train enroute!!
The work is having the pace of turtle & would take another year or two to get finished!!!!
