Via Manamadurai is actually long route. A line is from KKDI to MDU is better. And I think the BG version of NCR QLN Pass will come via MDU thus serving as ONT for MDU to delta districts.
Why line after Mannargudi is Terminated at Mannargudi itslef they can extend it and connect to tiruturaipundi jn giving nagpattinam District good short connectivity to Tanjavur & Trichy like places na?
Yes MQ-PKT line is proposed and survey going on. But ppl in intermediate villages are opposing this line. There is also another plan TJ-PKT. First I don't know why that NMJ-MQ line opened itself. Even if it got opened , introducing exp. trains there IMO does not look right.
TJ-PKT line will be good one if it is done.. may be that NMJ-MQ was from old time from MG/Ng Era for which they Made GC to extend upto PKT but now they might be left the extn due to villagers Oppose as u said.
