Have anyone succeeded in online booking a ticket during the peak season in tadkal? If so what is the method used? I tried using the quickbook. Mostly it says service not available until all the tickets are sold out and then it automatically books in waiting list as we cant monitor the status. Finally need to cancel the ticket and pay a sum of Rs 40 for it to IRCTC. I think IRCTC will collect a huge sum of money on such days.
Generally the server goes down at that time due to booking in many trains in many places. Best way for tatkal is to go to the counter and book it. It is always betetr to check for availability before doing a quick book
