the city Varanasi derived by two holy tributary rivers flowing into the River Ganga “Assi” and “Varuna”. Ganga River and their Ghats are one of the prominent must visit places in Varanasi; it is a stretch about 3-4 km....
It is been told that Lord Shiva found and resided in the Varanasi city. Varanasi has one of the famous twelve Jyotirlinga Visvanatha temples at the banks of the River Ganga. It is one of the seven holiest cities in India. It is also a place where Buddha first preached his sermon after enlightenment at Sarnath..... Ayurveda is originated from Varanasi and has constructed a strong base for the modern medical sciences...

Tip 1:- Kashi Vishwanath Temple
best time to visit is in evening around 4-5 pm, there are several gates to enter, along with Anapurna Temple...
Tip 2:- Assi Ghats
The famous one is Dashashwamedh Ghat where the nightly Agni Pooja ceremony takes place or u can say Sandhya Aarti along with it two more famous ghats are Manikarnika and Harishchandra Ghats are where Hindus cremate their dead...
best time is just after the vishwanath temple darshan, go to ghats and enjoy lemon tea, there after take a boat ride of 50rs per head and they will roam all the ghats and told u the uniqueness and then enjoy aarti at Ghats...
Tip 3:- #Malls
Generally every city having malls so in night u may visit malls as there are several malls in City
Tip 3:- #Sun_Rise
Visit for sunrise early in morning around 4 am, have some Kulhad Tea (कुल्हड़) and then take bath in Ganga as in morning less rush and water is cold...
when u see the orange sky at the time of sunrise take a boat ride and enjoy the sun rise view from boat... the sunlights glows the Ghats which looks more beautiful...
Tip 4:- #Breakfast
U may again visit to temples as lot of temples are there and then enjoy the street foods such as कुल्हड़ chola, samosa, Dahi Jalebi, Aloo Prantha, Lassi, Idli Sambhar etc etc...

Tip 6:- #New_Vishwanath_Temple & BHU
There is new temple made which is India biggest Lord Shiv Temple near BHU, the areal view of Temple looks like as the Shiv Ling, along with u can visit BHU; Benaras Hindu University which is 102 year old approx and have popularity in international levels, it is India one of the best and topped univeristy along with several university in Benaras...
Tip 7:- Sarnath
Lord Buddha give his first sermon in sarnath, due to this Great King Ashoka built stupas and pillar in Sarnath, Ashok chakra and ashok stambha all are parts of Nation Pride and used in National Emblem and Chakra in Flag...
Sarnath is most visited place by south east asian countries tourist due to religious center, u may see lot of monks too....
Tip 8:- Deer Park
There is deer park near sarnath, one can also roam there if love animals and parks etc
Tip 9:- #Alamgir_Mosque & Gyanvapi Mosque
NOTE:- Non-Muslim are not allowed to enter
Both the mosque built by the Aurengjeb in 17th century approx, the gyan vapi mosque is famous because of some Hindu belief that the original Kashi Vishwanath temple was situated there, but due to Vandalize several times by various rulers... there is well between temple and mosque which is holier than Ganga as per beliefs...
Tip 10:- #Jain_Temple #ISKCON & Church
There are other religious places too to visit which u may google out to roam and along with it several famous temples like, sankat mochan, bhaironath temple, monkey temple etc...
MUST TRY & BUY :- Handicrafts of Varanasi is famous, Benarasi saree no introduction needed, Benarasi Pan again no introduction needed, Litti Chokha, Lassi, Phulki (Gol Gappe), Matar, Bhaang etc...
MUST DO:- U must talk with some localize people who better describe the Varanasi specially in Gallis of Varanasi....
If u r technical and engineering background person then u may also visit DLW Diesel Locomotive Works only in India to built Diesel Locomotives and now making electric too...
How to Visit :-
By Air:- Lal Bahadur Shastri Airport is situated in babatpur of Varansi 25 Km approx from City and falls under 2nd busiest Airport in UP. It is an International Airport which connects Srilanka, Nepal, South East Asian Countries and some Gulf Country along with various domestic airports such as Mumbai, Delhi, Agra, Khajurao, Kanpur (soon), Kolkatta etc...
By Rail:- Varanasi is well connected to all India important cities with good no. of trains and fast connectivity...
Some famous trains are Shiv Ganga Express , Mahamana Express , Kashi Vishwanath Express & Mahanagari Express etc.
By Road:- It is well connected with roads and also the GT Road called Grand Trunk Road passes through the Varanasi City...
