Yes agree. Railways is increasingly these days trying to reduce layover period and increase rake utilisation. In case of Kerala express, train is stationed in Delhi for almost 20 hrs and in TVC for almost 22 hours. So there is a good possibility wherein railways can look at reducing layover period time at least on one side. But considering that it is such a long distance train maybe they might not think on these lines and look at safety/maintenance aspect and give these things more priority
Yes, two-way 3000 km. journey requires nearly one day of rest and maintenance combined. Even machines have a limit, just like us humans.

5 rakes can accommodate only possible with time changes .. hope that wont work out.
Hi.. on 18th Aug I spotted a 17- 18 coach LHB rake consisting of all 3A coaches at TBM hauled by a GOC alco .. can u pls help me know whether those are meant for Kerala Express or anything else ?? They were booked for SR/Perambur.. it had only one WLR (EOG) and its base was Madurai.. or is there any RF from Tambaram or Chennai who can help me know about it ?
