Well Panipat well known city if anyone readed history in his school days :P
Panipat changes the Indian history as Babur fought with Ibrahim Lodi in first battle of Panipat, Babur established his Mughal Empire after winning this first battle of Panipat....
well history is too much long but Panipat is well developed city as GDP of Panipat is very high due to numerous industries...
will
...
describe the city in another Travel tip but today wanna describe the "Qalandar Pir or Dargah" World famous is situated in Panipat near the killa area...
Shaikh Sharafuddeen Bu Ali Qalandar Panipati also called Bu Ali Qalandar born in Panipat, around 13th century.
he is famous sufi and well known for his poetry...
The dargah (mausoleum or shrine), mosque and enclosure at the Qalandar Chowk in Panipat were constructed by Mahabat Khan, a general in the service of the Mughal Emperor Jahangir. Mahabat Khan's own tomb in red sandstone is adjacent to the saint's mausoleum. The tombs of Hakim Mukaram Khan and the Urdu poet Maulana Altaf Hussain Hali are also located within the enclosure. A nearby structure is the tomb of the last Lodi dynasty ruler of Delhi, Ibrahim Lodi, killed in the First Battle of Panipat. The left wall of the mausoleum has a qasida (panegyric) embossed and painted in blue and gold, written by Zahuri Neishabouri who visited India during the reign of Akbar.
A large number of people from all walks of life - Hindus, Muslims, Sikhs and Christians - visit the tomb and offer prayers there each Thursday and during the annual Urs Mela.
Here are some pictures also uploaded which were clicked by me...
Dargah is open for every religion not only limited to Islam...
Hindu, Muslim, Sikh etc everyone is welcome here...
How to Reach:-
By Train- There are almost more than 50-60 trains a day plying from Delhi side as well as Ambala side, and it is connected with all big cities in India almost
By Road- The best way of reaching Panipat from nearby is Road as NH-1 is 6 lane road and awesome connectivity
By Air- Nearest airports are Delhi International Airport and Chandigarh Airport
The Dargah is almost 2 km approx from Railway sttaion and 1 km from Panipat Bus stand...
Take a Rickshaw at bargain price around Rs 30-40 or 50 sometimes
also one can shop in Panipat famous markets known as Palika bazar, jain mohalla, gur mandi, salarganj gate etc...
also one can shop on India's one of the biggest carpet, blanket market... and world biggest spun polyster thread market...
THANKS
