The new Charisma of SPJ DLS - SPJ WDM-3A #16655R standing on platform 5 of DBG. This locomotive has been blended with 25% Bio-Diesel. Bio-Diesel is a natural product and it has environmental as well as cost benefits if compared to High-Speed Diesel locomotives. Use of B-25 Bio-Diesel will help in reduction of Carbon Emission of 2100 Tons/year assuming 4000 diesel locomotives working 330 days a year as per standard Indian Railways duty cycle. The environmental benefits of using B-25 in just "one" loco is comparable to removal of 500 trucks' emission from roads of India. Use of B-25 has the potential saving in Annual fuel cost amounting to ₹2.99 Crores for SPJ Diesel Loco Shed, if applied in Indian Railways than approx ₹178 Crores would be saved.
