I think this station can be used as a terminal for long distance trains after a bit renovation...As Deoghar Jn is unelectrified...This station may play an important role for passengers as it's the main railhead to the pilgrimage town...

Actually BDME station lies in the densely populated area , in the heart of the city , so expansion of the station is nearly impossible. Whereas the Deoghar station is in the outskirts of the city and will be definitely electrified some day . Moreover BDME station cant accomodate more than 10-12 coaches and thats the reason why the only exp train BDME RNC Intercity exp was shifted to Deoghar stn

BDME Ranchi express is still not a very long train.. Shifting from BDME to Deoghar was not a good step.
