Need a help regarding how to get the SL and SU? I have tried opting for the SL & SU in berth preference but I don't know why I always end up getting LB & MB!!

Not a fool proof method. But it has worked for me in most of the cases. Wait for the ticket to go to RAC. Book a RAC ticket with seat preference for Side Lower or Side Upper. You might end up in Side Lower/Upper when Chart gets prepared.
