Five battery operated cars are available to ferry passengers on platforms at Secunderabad railway station. While the service is available for all, preference will be given to senior citizens, visually impaired, pregnant women and passengers with health issues. The unique battery operated car services, which will be available round-the-clock at a cost of Rs 45 per one passenger, can be availed through advance booking by calling a dedicated mobile number 88273-31111. These cars are spacious and can accommodate six passengers at a time with a huge luggage carrier on the roof. They have safety features such as automatic stoppage in case of electrical failures and availability of hand brake for emergency stoppage during technical snags. To ensure safety of the passengers who use the service, the cars are operated by professionally trained drivers, who are in touch with railway supervisors.
