Everyday Here Two Passenger Trains Merge And Travel Together | Indian Railways click here
.
51034 Sainagar (Shirdi) - Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaja Terminus (Mumbai) is a daily Fast Passenger service. It's slip portion comes from either Bijapur (51030) or Pandharpur (51028).

by an electric engine (KYN WCAM-3), 51034 SNSI-CSMT FP arrives on PF-4 at Daund, which is a terminating platform i.e. trains cannot go any further. The slip portion arrives on PF-3 with a diesel engine. This D-loco detaches from the rake and gets attached at the rear end of Sainagar FP standing on PF-4. Then the rake of Sainagar FP is pulled out of PF-4 and is taken to PF-3 where the slip portion is already standing.
.
After getting attached to the rake, both trains run as a single unit for the rest of the journey (upto Mumbai). All of this takes more than an hour and sometimes even more, in case one of the train gets delayed.

Very useful.
Such action is more frequent at SWR stations and I was in a puzzled state before getting to know the arrangement for Goa Express and its slip portion.
