Presenting some pictures of a much lesser railway station situated beside the campus of one of the most exemplary institutes in India, Mesra railway station. Situated on the proposed newer Ranchi-Barkakhana railway line, under ECR's Dhanbad division. It is surprising to see a project so close to RNC being allocated to ECR. Post completion this route would be likely to see a good number of traffic as the RNC-BKRA-KQR would be the shortest connection between RNC & the Grand Chord.

What is however more surprising is the wastage of constructed infrastructure...

post completion of the line. Wonder why the line lies in-operational, clearly seeing the 3 platforms constructed means that this station maybe is likely to get upgraded to a terminal. There is a island platform present there, spaces are present for pit-line construction too. Hope that train services are started soon, maybe a RNC-BKRA-KQR/DHN intercity for a start?
