This is what is called a Real SF with 60+ Avg... Guess one of the rarest ones introduced in recent times. Kudos to SWR.

1AC should be avoided in new train overnight and long distance trains. As income levels of travellers increased and importance of time people who travel in 1AC are preferring flights even from towns as far as 50-60 km from airports. A coach one manufactured has a life of 25 yrs and traffic pattern for coming years it's better to avoid. They can run with more 3AC coaches instead of sleeper as more travellers are upgrading. 3 AC is the only class which gets the income which matches the cost of coach and operating cost SL returns only 50% of costs. As availability increases travellers will try to upgrade to3AC.
1AC is definitely something that railways have to reconsider now, given how air travel has become cheaper.
However, there is still a reasonable demand for 1AC on many routes. My experience is mainly with the SBC Rajdhani between SBC and SC.
I've regularly seen many executives and businessmen preferring to take the 1AC on the Raj between SBC and SC, instead of taking an early morning flight. For them it's more comfortable to just get onto a train after dinner and reach their destination well rested in the morning, as opposed to...
