This station lies 14 km from Lucknow on Lucknow Bareily Main Line. It is most famous for being the location for 'Kakori Kand' in 1925 when Saharanpur Lucknow passenger was looted by freedom fighters on August 9 of that year. A memorial to them is also dedicated couple of kms from the station.
