after it crossed, a freight train departed from the second loop line to pave the way for another freight train. Within a few minutes came an AC Container Freight Train hauled by SBI WDG-4D 70344 and entered the vacant loop line to pave the way for the incoming Ashram Express.

To my utmost surprise, 02916 Old Delhi - Ahmedabad Ashram Special came roaring with an EMD (instead of its usual link Twin Alcos), BGKT WDP-4B 40044 and crossed Palam in a jiffy.
