From no Unreserved Train to Unreserved 2S in Exp, Industrial Labour to Rural Travelers...You keep on switching at your own conveyance!!
Mandya & Bellary are District town. Industrial Labour will keep up there instead of daily wasting income in travel!! Even then why labourer gonna waste Exp charge in Exp 2S when MEMU/Pass UTS exist in 1/3 Charge (as pointed earlier by you?)!! And no stops UTS/MTS travelers in M/E & thats shows in jampacked ICE/M/E 2S.

Nothing against other states. But thats what I also felt. Every other day in the past few months, SWR started a new train in the name of one way special from SBC and MYS. Dont know from where they get rake and slot. Yes, it is beneficial for migrants and I am not opposing it. But all I want is that they pay equal attention to daily travellers within the state. This pic emphasises the need for more intra-state trains. After all, they would just require a rake or two to run intra-state train.
Seems mostly being done to get as much revenue as possible. Fares in all these long distance trains are way higher as compared to regular times. And generally runs with full occupancy. I guess railways trying to maximise as much as possible and avoid situations like last year.
However I agree in the process of doing this intra state passengers have been left in the lurch. Same situation seems to be in other places as as well, KL, TN, Pune-Mumbai etc. Daily passengers in these places have also been emanding resumption of local/passenger trains

They have to increase both the reserved as well as unreserved coaches and trains. When we don't have normal buses running within the state it's expected that for short distances people catch ICEs, and daily passengers cannot book a 2S ticket literally everyday.
Bus dont ply Inter-State is local issue which cant be linked to push extra Unreserved/Class into trains. And why bus dont ply? Just to minimize useless travel & control Covid in badly infected State!!
Daily traveler are mostly worker/labourers who got MST for ICE/MEMU/DEMU short distance travel & non daily travelers need UTS!! MYS/HRR/HAS-SBC got morning & evening MEMU/DEMU/ICE to traverse no less than 2000 passenger at a go.
BGM-UBL-HRR got ICE for MST.
